Mobility Equipment Training; to Keep You Moving.

Your mobility equipment training (with a cane, crutches, walker or wheelchair) got you moving when you needed it, but maybe bad habits have crept in, or some safety points have been forgotten. How easy is it to contact the person who trained you? And if you need to know now, how can you get that information now?

For example, the weather has turned from sunny and warm to rainy and cold. Is there something missing in the safety instruction you got when you first used your cane? Do you have other questions about canes?

crutches suckOr, your armpits hurt when you use your crutches, so you don't want to use them. But without them, you risk putting too much weight on that newly repaired knee, or losing your balance. How do you re-learn the way to check and adjust the crutches?

This site gives you a refresher on those lessons you once knew so well. It's not meant to replace training with a physical therapist, or other licensed healthcare provider, but it's for those who use mobility/assistive devices (and those that help them).

As a physical therapist, I've seen some people out with their equipment, and really had to look in amazement at how they are using it; or how crutches fit them so poorly, or how their backs must really hurt from leaning over a walker so much. And safety is always compromised when mobility equipment starts wearing out.

It's an awkward position to be in; knowing that I can help them with a few quick adjustments to equipment, or a (friendly, and hopefully well-taken) suggestion on how to do something to take the strain off of their body. And yet, how do you establish trust in such a brief relationship; an unknown stranger approaches and says that they know how to do something better than you do?

Ah, mobility equipment training.com became my solution! It takes care of a need for me, as a healthcare provider, to solve a problem that I see. And it takes care of you, to solve the problem of how to get the information that you need, but can't get to right away otherwise.

Thank you for visiting. Please come back again to check for new information about mobility equipment training.
